For years, I’ve been following accounts on Instagram, like Evan Schiller Photography, Could Be The Day, Channing Benjamin, Matt Hahn, you name it. While I knew I would probably never replicate what these guys invest and capture, I figured there must be entry-level cameras out there that can come close to “getting the job done.”
In October 2022, after months of research (and by research, I mean countless YouTube and Reddit rabbit holes), I bought my Sony A6400 along with the E 55-210mm f/4.5 - 6.3 OSS lens (fancy!). Ironically, my camera and lens arrived at my doorstep the night before a trip to Big Cedar in Missouri where I played Payne’s Valley. Being able to document that trip with my new toy was surreal and made me realize that there could be a lot of potential with this whole photography thing.
For the last two years, I’ve done shoots for casual rounds with buddies, brands with new launches and mini events, all for the experience and mastering the craft. Now I’m ready to start treating it as a business!
